An accomplished biotechnology executive with many years of experience, Fuad El-Hibri serves as the chairman of the El-Hibri Charitable Foundation. In July of 2012, Fuad El-Hibri hosted the third annual Ibrahim El-Hibri Interfaith Iftar dinner at the Foundation’s building in downtown Washington, DC. The event took place on July 16th, which doubled as the eighth day of Ramadan and the Jewish day of remembrance known as the Ninth of Av.
During the event’s keynote address, His Eminence Theodore Cardinal McCarrick encouraged Christian and Muslim leaders to begin fostering an interfaith dialogue, an initiative which will build peace between the two religions. According to H.E. Cardinal McCarrick, religious communities in the United States must live up to the ideals shared by many Abrahamic faiths, including love of neighbor and love of God. Other speakers included the president of the El-Hibri Charitable Foundation, Judy Barsalou; Rabbi Dr. Marc Gopin; and the president of the Islamic Society of North America, Imam Mohammed Magid.
